In December 2015, the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) was signed into law. Highlights of ESSA include holding all students to high academic standards and ensuring that the lowest-performing schools are provided the appropriate supports for school improvement.
The Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF) is a critical part of the Education Performance System and utilizes a five-star classification approach.
Southeast Career Technical Academy has been classified as a five star school.
The following have been identified as goals for the 2018-2019 school year:
● Increase the percentage of students graduating each year
● Increase the number of students completing Advanced Placement (AP) and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses each year
● Reduce the over-representation of diverse student populations regarding suspensions, behavioral school referrals, and expulsions
For more information about the progress being made relative to these goals, please review the School Performance Plan on your school's website.
Additionally, your school's rating report is available at www.nevadareportcard.com . Parent engagement is critical to the success of students; therefore, you are encouraged to become involved in the academic progress of your child's school.
Please visit your school to obtain information about opportunities for involvement. Together, we can make a difference.
